Why Michiel Jan Mol Might Spend the Rest of His Life in Jail
Who hasn’t dreamed about traveling to space during childhood? We are sure that most of you did, but for the majority of us, it was just that – a dream, a fantasy. Most of us are concerned about other things in life – finding a decent job, paying rent, putting kids through school, maybe vacations. We are satisfied with having the possibility to travel to different parts of the world aware that even that is a privilege.
On the other hand, few people on the planet are living very different lives. Those who were born in wealthy families or became rich later don’t share the concerns of common people. Instead, they are spending tremendous amounts of money to realize their childhood fantasies.
What is interesting is that these people are always somehow in the shadow – we don’t hear anything about them until they get involved in some scandal. One such example is a Dutch investor Michiel Mol. He made his fortune in the software business but became more known only as a co-owner and C.E.O of the Force India team.
During the past few years, Mr. Mol’s name is linked with space tourism. He started a company called Spaces Expedition Corporation, and he is offering space travel for a price of €75.000 per ticket. The intended duration of the flight is one hour. For the time being, none of the spacecraft this company launched didn’t leave the Earth’s orbit.
